I could not resist this navy top when I came across it in my favourite charity shop this week. It was only £3.00 and nearly new. It was slightly large on me but the belt helps to keep it in proportion and I think gives a nice finishing touch. It goes well with my white summer skirt.
It is a while since I posted on my allotment. With the warm summer weather things are now growing really well and last night we had our first rain for over three weeks so no need to water the plants. Actually it was a bonus as we all went out for the evening for a community barbecue to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday so I wouldn't have had time to water anyway.
I grow most of our vegetables and can be quite self sufficient during the summer and early autumn. We have peas, runner and french beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, potatoes, carrots, cabbages and brussel sprouts. Only the carrots are being a little slow in developing this year. I firmly believe that home grown vegetables taste far better than those you can buy in supermarkets - and you know where they came from.
Gardening is my escape valve. When I have a difficult day at work or the children are playing up, I can escape in my own little world for an hour tending the plants and feel much better. Some digging also enables me to take out any frustrations in a constructive way!
Hannah wanted to take a picture of me in my gardening attire for the blog but you will be pleased to know I will not inflict that spectical on you!
