A quick outfit post this week. As we are promised a heat wave in the UK next week with temperatures over 30C, I thought another dress found in my local charity shop would be appropriate. This dress cost me a mere £3.50. It needed a small repair to one seam which took me 10 minutes and then it was as good as new. I thought that the contrasting tie belt gives it an interesting finishing touch.

Classic Cars and a Pastel Outfit
We all love looking at vintage and classic vehicles so we went along as a family to see a local rally last weekend.
This Chevrolet was the favourite of both my daughter, Hannah and my son, Henry. Hannah couldn't wait for people to move out of the way so that she could take this photograph.
My husband's favourite was this late 1930s maroon Austin saloon which was in immaculate condition having been carefully restored.
My favourite was this rare Riley Coupe which dates from the 1940s.
For my outfit in this post I have chosen a summery pastel combination. The pink skirt has been in my wardrobe for some time and I think it is just the right length to accord with my modest standards. I have a feeling that it might have come from a High Street store rather than a charity shop. The matching top was from a charity shop. I like the pattern on the white section which makes it more interesting.

Summer at Last!
I am sorry for my lack of a post etc last week but I had a very busy time at work. One of my colleagues had annual leave, another was sick and another had a family crisis so the office was extremely depleted. I had to work extra hours to meet some important deadlines!
Anyway, I am pleased to report that summer appears to have arrived at last in the UK. The strong winds have died down and the temperatures are approaching 20C.
This dress is one I bought back in late September when the remaining summer stock was being sold at bargain prices. It only cost me £1! The label is St Michael so it came originally from Marks and Spencers and I have a feeling that it is fairly old possibly dating back to the 1980s.
It is great to be able to wear some summer skirts and dresses again and I hope to be able to post on some more summer bargains very soon.

Grey Top
Although we are almost into summer, here in the UK we are experiencing strong winds and woollen tops are still essential on most days. This top cost me £3.50. It is not too thick to be uncomfortable when the sun does come out but does its job in protecting me from the unseasonal winds. I quite like the detail on the shoulder.
The manager of the charity shop told me that they normally pack away woollens until September but they have kept them out this year as they are still selling well!
