From the Back of my Wardrobe...

I was going through my wardrobe recently with a view to making some room by donating some clothes which I no longer wear to the charity shop when I came across this dress.

I don't think I have worn it for nearly ten years as I bought it to wear to a March Wedding before the children were born. I bought it new from Marks and Spencers. It is reasonably warm as the material contains a wool mix and is fairly thick. It is always a nightmare to buy something suitable to wear for events in March as the weather can be very unpredictable.

I may well wear it again this weekend as we are visiting relatives and I was looking for a suitable outfit. I am not sure if it a little dated in style but I think it deserves a second outing after all this time in the back of the wardrobe.

A "new to me" Skirt Suit

This is a fairly recent charity shop find. With the slightly warmer temperatures and spring not that far away, I shall soon be reverting to wearing skirts again to work. It is always a sign of better things to come when I can arrive home in daylight. This suit cost me £8.50 and was nearly new. I quite like the style and length of the skirt. It was originally purchased from Marks and Spencer. I am not too sure about the photo though as there appears to be something wrong with my shoulder!

Pastels

Iris from Feminine Modesty set a challenge a few days ago to wear more cheerful outfits in pastel shades during these cold dark winter days. My wardrobe is not varied enough to take part in many blog challenges even though I often want to - but this time I will give it a go!

The jumper is for once purchased new. It is salmon pink so I think it will qualify as a pastel shade. I bought it in New Look. The trousers are in cotton and are pale brown. I bought them last summer for wearing on holiday. Under the jumper is a long white shirt which (almost) covers those areas which I prefer out of sight when wearing trousers in public to maintain my standards of modesty.

Iris is right - it does lift your mood when wearing brighter colours rather than the usual winter outfits dominated by black.

Wishing it was Summer

It has been chilly here for the past few weeks and I have been feeling a little under the weather with a cold and cough. Not serious enough to keep me off work - more of a nuisance.

I have been trying to keep warm with extra layers including thick woolly jumpers and thicker tights when at home and the wool trouser suit (shown in my last post) when at work.

I decided to try to cheer myself up with this weeks "charity shop bargain" post by sporting a summer dress which I bought in August last year. I discovered it still in its bag at the bottom of my wardrobe as I somehow forgot about it. It cost me £4.00 and it originally came from New Look.

It is a little figure hugging but I like it and can't wait until it is warm enough outside to wear it - may be just another three months if we are lucky!
